3 Things You Must Not Do When You Have Pimples
March 1, 2010 at 8:14 AM

Lets face it, we all hate pimples. Since Acne is a human skin disease and we are all human beings, we have to face the reality. Unfortunately, there are no quick fix cure for this disease. However, the following suggestions can start the process of healing your acne pimples and improve your skin.

1. Do Not Itch, pinch or pop the pimple

You push bacteria into the skin if you itch, pinch or pop your zits. You make your skin vulnerable to more pimples. This will also make your skin redder. If it gets uncomfortably itchy use a cold pack and hold on top of the affected area.

2. Avoid wearing cosmetics

Cosmetics and make-up can clog pores and intensify the acne outbreak. If you do use concealer products to make your acne outbreak less noticeable, make sure you clean them off before going to bed. Also, apply your acne fighting medication before going to bed.

3. Reduce intake of refined sugar

Refined sugar is believed to ! be one of the major contributing factors of how severe a case of acne will become. How much acne and how big they are depends on sugar intake. Eat less refined sugars and substitute artificial sweeteners or natural sweeteners like honey, in your diet to reduce the severity of acne outbreak.

By following the suggestions above, you will be on your way to heal your acne prone skin. As you start to have clear complexion, your confidence and self esteem will also improve.

Ways to Get Rid of Acne Scars
March 1, 2010 at 6:43 AM

It seems that acne scars can be more problematic than acne itself because it take a very long time for the scars to disappear.  In fact, many scars remain forever on the surface of your skin.  But, if the scars are not big or deep, you might want to consider treating the scars at home with natural treatments.

Here's some home remedies for acne blemish removal that can bring the glow back to your skin:

Drink lots of water.  Water has amazing cleansing and rejuvenating properties for the human body.  Water can help to shed off dead skin cells by hydration.  New skin develops quicker and more smoothly when the body is properly hydrated.

Eating fruits and vegetables provides an abundance of vitamins and minerals to help rejuvenate the skin.  The juices from fruits and vegetables also make healthy skin to heal acne scars.

Healing and erasing blemishes takes more than just applying creams or oils to the skin.  The body needs healthy foods and es! sential nutrients to fight against infections that can complicate acne scarring.  Be sure to include tofu, chicken, soy and fish in your diet to provide your body the proteins it needs to heal your skin.

Drinking several glasses of lemon juice everyday will help your body to shed the dead skin cells at a faster pace.  Healthier skin cells with elasticity will replace the dead cells.

Rose Hip Oil is another great home remedy to fight acne scars.  The oil has anti-aging properties that reduce wrinkles, rejuvenate the skin surface and return it to its natural color.

Aloe Vera Gel also helps get rid of acne scars and makes the skin healthier.

Tomatoes are rich in vitamin A, and is effective to stop overproduction of sebum that causes acne and acne scars.  Tomatoes also have antioxidant properties to heal damaged skin and acne blemishes.  Placing a slice of tomato on your face can quickly reduce acne scars.

Olive oil is another wonderful anti! dote to improve skin condition and reduce acne scars.  Massag! e the oi l on the affected parts of your skin every day to soften the skin texture and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Honey can also be applied on affected parts of your skin to reduce acne scars and give the skin a youthful appearance.  You can massage honey onto the skin or  consume it in pill form.

Lavender oil is another natural substance that is widely used in commercial cosmetics.  Lavender has regenerative properties that will make your skin look fresh and younger.

Rosewater and Sandalwood can be combined to make a paste to lather on acne scars.  Leave the paste on the skin overnight and wash the skin with cold water in the morning.  Applying this paste regularly can help to get rid of acne scars quickly.

The best way to avoid acne scarring from occurring is to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.  Exercising reduces stress and gets rid of harmful toxins in the body.  Don't expect home acne remedies to produce miraculous results ove! rnight; it's not going to happen!  Natural remedies can improve the skin, but it will take time and persistence. The other situation that is often unavoidable is genetic inclination toward acne. Teens generally are susceptible to acne, some worse than others, some not at all.

Count your blessings if you don't have acne problems, or only to a very minor extent. The good news is, if you have it, try the above remedies, avoid squeezing the pimples (this creates scars), and tough it out. It usually goes away as you grow into your twenties.

The Best Natural Approach to Curing and Preventing Acne, Once and For All
March 1, 2010 at 6:39 AM

Of the many skin health problems people have, acne is very common and can be very complicated if the right approach to treatment is not followed. If the right steps are followed, there will hardly be anyone, even in severe cases, that will not recover from acne as long as the proper change in diet and lifestyle is adhered to. Once a person identifies and addresses the root causes of acne, it eventually becomes a thing of the past.

It's really amazing seeing people who were once acne sufferers have their lives back. The relief and happiness they experience is unfathomable as some have suffered it for several years without a remedy. This reminds me of a male friend in University that had chronic acne and I gave him some very simple home remedy, to his surprise, after two weeks he returned with a very clear face. I cannot describe the joy he expressed while recounting his ordeal with various acne treatment.

Have you bothered to ask yourself what the root cause ! of this acne is? The mistake most acne victims make is that the leave the real issue and turn to creams, cleansers, and sometimes drugs to relieve their symptoms. While these methods may produce short-term results for some, to others, they seldom lead to permanent solution because they do not factor in dietary and lifestyle which is very pivotal to acne treatment.

Every time I see people buy and use over-the-counter products like creams, cleansers, and drugs to treat acne, I sympathize with them because I understand that while they are making efforts to solve their problem, they are also ignorant of the permanent solution to their problem. When you use creams and other acne products you can only be sure of a temporal solution which may erupt into an adverse skin problem in a long use. I'm pretty sure that as soon as you point out and tackle the root causes of acne, you will feel just as relieved and happy as you should.

Here are the guiding principles to solving! acne naturally:

1. Stay away from the worst causes of a! cne; the y are fried foods, pasteurized dairy products, hydrogenated oils, salty snacks, preservatives like sulphates, sugar and processed foods that contain gluten.
2. Don't be tempted to rub your acne with coarse towels. This may cause redness and irritation and may spread the acne. Instead, get used to air drying your face.
3. Let your meal be primarily whole, unprocessed foods, with much vegetable.
4. Lessen the use of soaps and make-up on your face. If you don't wear make-up, washing with tepid water is enough to have clean and healthy face. In fact, washing with water is the best natural therapy in history.
5. Avoid stressing up yourself. Sleep well and refresh your body. When you have sufficient sleep, then your body can efficiently repair damaged skin.
6. Vitamin E from natural sunlight is good if your weather allows. Try and expose yourself to sunshine daily, even if it's for a few minutes. Natural sunlight has an amazing healing ! and convalescent effect for your skin.

Finding the Best Acne-Free Remedy
March 1, 2010 at 1:39 AM

For acne-prone people, it is difficult to find the best acne-free home remedy. A home remedy is usually the last thing they avail of and instead, they go to dermatologists who prescribe chemical-based medication. Contrary to what most people know, chemical-based or synthetic medication may do more harm than good to the skin.

Acne is the most common skin condition that affects most, if not all people. It occurs as lesions in the skin that contain pus. It is an inflammation of the sebaceous gland when dirt gets trapped in the pores of the skin, thereby trapping oil inside the skin. The result is a bubble-like bump on the surface of the skin. There are a lot of things that cause the outbreak of acne. Some of these causes are excessive caffeine, which can be taken from cola, coffee, some chocolate products, sugary and fatty foods, and oils. Hormonal imbalance is also one of the main causes of acne that breaks out during the teenage years.

An acne-free home remed! y may be the best option to start with. The first thing to do to avoid or to get rid of acne is to minimize consumption of acne-causing foods. There is really nothing that can be done against hormonal changes but to help the skin cope with these changes. Washing the face with mild cleansers may help minimize the occurrence of acne. Also, drinking a lot of water will enable the body dispose of more toxins that may worsen hormone imbalance.

If you have to take medication, however, you can find simple medicines right at home. Benzoyl peroxide is known as the main anti-acne medication. Antibiotic creams and topical ointments may also do the trick in removing bacteria in acne lesions. Of course, these may cost more. If you want to save money, then finding an acne-free home remedy is still the best avenue.

The only thing that everyone must remember is that the skin is not an invulnerable part of the body. It also needs to be taken care of so that it does not undergo b! ad conditions that can cause more injury. Also, the condition ! of the s kin reflects the overall health of a person. If the skin appears healthy, the person can also be expected to be healthy. Otherwise, if the skin looks dull and full of lesions, there must be something wrong going on in the body. So, in order to get rid of this problem permanently, go with the best acne-free home remedy that you and your dermatologist can find.

The 2 Best Acne Scar Removal Techniques
March 1, 2010 at 1:33 AM

Dealing with acne can be very unpleasant. For teenagers especially, acne can cause a lot of emotional and mental distress as their peers place a lot of importance on physical appearance. Fortunately, acne will cease to be a problem for most teenagers as they get into their early 20's. The acne will begin to fade away as will the taunting and the teasing that come with it. Unfortunately, the physical scars left behind by acne don't always fade away. Sometimes acne scars need to be treated before they too can fade away like our memories of the past.

There is help available for those who suffer from persistent and stubborn acne scars. It is possible to remove these acne scars and there are two main options available to do it. Both of these options involve removing the top layer of the skin.

Dermabrasion

The first option is dermabrasion. This is the process of removing the top layer of skin through the use of a rotating wire brush. The pur! pose of removing this top layer of skin is to allow the body to produce a new top layer of skin that will be smoother than the layer that was removed. It will usually take the skin somewhere between 10 days and three weeks to heal from this process. Depending on the severity of the acne scars, it may take multiple treatments to get to the desired results.

Laser Resurfacing

Much like dermabrasion, laser resurfacing removes the top layer of scarred skin but this is accomplished through the use of a laser instead of a scraping process. This procedure can be done in a dermatologist's office and does not require any hospitalization. Laser Resurfacing will, however, require a local anesthetic to reduce the pain of the procedure. Like dermabrasion, the severity of the acne scars will determine the number of treatments that will be needed and it will take several days for the skin to heal after each treatment.

Like all things, there are pros and c! ons to both procedures. The best thing you can do is to resear! ch both of them and determine which, if any, of them is right for you.

Acne Home Remedies - Get Instant Relief of Acne Blemishes With These Highly Effective Remedies
February 28, 2010 at 11:59 AM

It is breakfast time! You are ready to go to school and mom serves you your favorite breakfast meal! Milk, eggs, bacon and toast with honey. Yummy! Well, at least something cheered you up for the day. After having breakfast, and as you walk towards the school bus, you somehow have this choking feeling. It's like something somewhere inside is not making you want to go to school, much worse, not even get on that bus. Why is this happening?

Because once other kids see you, you will be endlessly tormented by their name calling. Your acne is just too bad that you are now the center of everyone's jokes. This is not funny at all, and what's sad, more than 50 percent of teens all over the world experience the same thing.

What's comforting to know though that the treatment to acne doesn't all the time involve expensive dermatological enhancements, though for extreme cases, it will be considered. But why go through the extremes when there are simpler and I'd say bette! r ways of dealing with it. Believe it or not, acne can be treated even at home. What you have been having for breakfast all these times may well be the answer to your prayers.

Who would've thought that the milk you drank and the honey you put on your toast would be one of the remedies? Both are packed with antioxidants known to fight off free radicals and kill germs that contribute to the build up of acne.

The only thing you have to do is to have either a milk or honey mask twice a day. Get a piece of clean cloth and dab it on your face and let it stay there for around 10 minutes then rinse it off with warm water and mild soap. Do this before leaving for school and before going to bed. You will see results in no time. Now, people will be looking at you, not because of ridicule, but because everyone wants to be your friend- even their partner to the prom!

Home Remedies For Acne - Fast Safe and Effective Remedies For Instant Relief of Acne
February 28, 2010 at 11:59 AM

There are several ways to remedy your acne at home. Most of the things you need can easily be found stowed somewhere near your favorite fruit, vegetable or spices. You will see. Now here are some of the sure fire ways to remedy your acne without even leaving home:

* Tea tree oil- how is this going to help you with acne? It consists of a constituent called terpinen- 4- ol which gives the tea tree oil its anti bacterial capability. To be a little scientific about how it helps in the treatment, it kills a certain kind of bacteria which is Proprionibacterium acnes which of course causes acne. You need not to know that, but it pays to know that a simple oil can kill and can kill fast.

* Take multi vitamins on a regular basis- your multivitamins contains a good dose of Vitamin E which is known to make the skin glow and supple, and younger looking. It also aids in fighting off bacteria build up which causes the formation of acne.

* Apply milk mask once or twi! ce a day- milk is good source of vitamins not only for the bones but also for the skin, specifically the face. Milk tightens the skin and soften the acne. If done religiously, this is even enough to make it go away.

* Avoid touching your face- your hands are dirty, we have to accept that. Holding money, holding on to the railings of stairs, and the list goes on an on. Your face should be free from dirt, and by even simply touching it aggravates the skin, and making the risk of more acne breakouts to take place.

* Wash twice a day with your dermatologist recommended acne soap- this is important because your acne soap mostly contains zinc which no doubt kills the bacteria responsible for your acne.

It's often hard to know whether your stage of acne is serious and what you need to do to control it.The less severe cases can usually be controlled by over-the-counter scrubs and creams and a healthy diet.More severe cases may need a doctors' care. Here's rundown of the stages and what is usually needed to control them.

It's often hard to know whether your stage of acne is serious and what you need to do to control it. The less severe cases can usually be controlled by over-the-counter scrubs and creams and a healthy diet. More severe cases may need a doctors' care. Here's rundown of the stages and what is usually needed to control them.

Stage Zero - Stage zero acne is very common and occurs at sometime in 95% to 98% of us. It is identified by breakouts that include small white heads and black heads and sometimes inflammation. Conscientious cleaning and a healthy diet is usually all it takes to control acne at this stage. Untreated, acne usually progresses, s! o getting it under control quickly is very important.

Stage One - Stage one acne looks just like stage zero, just with more pimples and/or frequent breakouts. If you've been conscientious about controlling you stage zero acne and it just gets worse, it's time to try an over-the-counter acne scrub and possibly a cream for break-outs.

Stage Two - Stage Two is recognized by additional pimples known as papules that are skin lesions which are solid and raised but usually small. Stage two acne is usually controllable with over the counter products that contain salicylic acid. It is often best to use a regimen of products that include a wash or scrub, an astringent and a cream or moisturizer.

Stage Three - Acne in stage three looks like stage two, but with more frequent or continuous breakouts. If your acne becomes continuous or does not seem to respond to your stage two regimen, it's time to let your doctor check it out.

Stages Four and Five - Like the pre! vious stages, stages four and five look a lot alike, but diffe! r in the frequency of break-outs. Pustules begin to appear and it's definitely time to visit a dermatologist.

Stages Six and Seven - Nodules and cysts begin to form in these stages. Scarring will soon follow. The dermatologist will begin to take more serious measures.

Stage Eight - Stage eight acne occurs when stage seven acne becomes severe and continuous. Thankfully today there are technologies and treatments that are effective even for stage eight acne. However, the best defense against stage eight acne is conscientious treatment in the early stages. And never forget the importance of a following a healthy diet and drinking lots of water. Good Luck!

Is Dehydration Giving You Acne? - 3 Essential Skin Tips to Help Eliminate Unwanted Acne Problems
February 28, 2010 at 12:33 AM

Message from fivefilters.org: If you can, please donate to the full-text RSS service so we can continue developing it.

Let's face it, having acne sucks. Even as you get older, you can still get it. It's embarrassing. And it makes you not want to go out in public. But the good news is there are some simple things that you can do to help your acne.

I suffer acne really bad growing up. It was so bad that I was on some very strong medication to try to clear it up. How strong was a medication I was on? I had to have my blood drawn regularly to check my liver. That's how strong, and that is why I want to give you this advice.

The first thing that you need to do is get into the habit of washing your hands much more frequently. As we handle objects throughout the day we tend to pick up grease on our fingers. If you don't wash your hands frequently you will end up transferring this grease to your face. And that isn't good for your skin.

The next thing you need to do is start washing your bedding more often. When you sleep, oil on your face gets on your bedding which then gets t! ransferred back to your skin every night. By washing your sheets regularly you can avoid this.

You also need to watch what you eat. The old saying you are what you eat is so true. Avoid greasy foods and try to eat more fruits. You also want to drink plenty of water to keep your skin healthy and lubricated.

Avoid the Lifetime Scars - 7 Things to Remember When Treating Your Acne
February 28, 2010 at 12:32 AM

Message from fivefilters.org: If you can, please donate to the full-text RSS service so we can continue developing it.

You are reading this article because you are in search for the best acne treatment cures. It is important to remember that what you do may diminish or aggravate the healing capacities of your skin. Our skin has its own healing process and by enhancing this capacity and keeping the process to take place, you can get rid of acne for good. This article will discuss the things that you should and should not do before your acne becomes worse.

Skin picking

It is truly tempting to pick or squeeze those nasty little pimples in your face. However, you are more likely to make things worse with the existing inflammation. The puss may get dipper and wider into your skin. It is better to leave it to the professionals because they know how to deal with blackheads and whiteheads.

Smoking

Smoking is a total wreak then it comes to your health. By giving up smoke, you are giving up the chances of cancer, heart disease and other diseases. Smoking starves the cells ! from the precious oxygen making it more difficult for cells to rejuvenate and heal themselves.

Vitamin A

Too much Vitamin A in your body is not health and could cause liver problems in the long run. Small doses present in green fruit and vegetables are good enough for your skin and body.

Over the counter medications

Treating your acne problems with over the counter medicines could worsen your situation. It is always a bad idea to self medicate yourself and applying creams and ointments without talking to your dermatologist.

Using topical steroids

Using over the counter cortisone creams can worsen your acne problem. They are normally advertised to treat adult acne but do not attempt to solve the cause of the condition. You might feel happy because the acne is gone for good only to know that they come back after a few months worse than the original.

Antibiotics

Like topical steroids, constant use of antibiotics will worsen the p! roblem and could pose damage to your health. Antibiotics are k! nown to destroy bacterial in your body, good or bad, which could have a detrimental effect on your liver - an important organ for skin regeneration.

Shaving with Razor blades

Surprisingly, shaving with razor blades could irritate the skin and worsen the situation. Try to use shavers with only 1 blade instead of 3 or 4.

Dealing With Acne - Helpful Tips to Get Rid of It

Acne problems have always been associated in a teenager's life. It is their worst enemy after pimples pop in just before their planned date. Acne lowers down the teenager's self esteem, self confidence, worth and self-identity. Not to mention that some of them will leave a scar in the face forever and would turn the person into a miserable recluse.

Together with acne comes a bunch of foes starting with zits, pimples, blackheads or whiteheads. Normally seen on the face, they can also appear in the shoulders and at the back. The life of acne starts with sebum or oil is trapped right under the skin which makes a good breeding ground for bacteria. Zits can be as mild as get gets while acne vulgaris will cause enough disfiguration and extreme scarring.

If you have acne, chances are, you are tempted to pop them out. Although, at many times, popping zits will not leave you with any scar. Just be sure you are doing it in the right time when the zits are ripe and rea! dy to go. Or else, it will only irritate your skin if you consistently pick on them.

Like any bacteria in the body, they too can spread as well igniting acne troubles to get worsen. If you cannot help yourself but pop the acne, just be sure to clean your hands first and wash your face with a cleanser and warm water.

Avoid using your fingernails because they have this dirt underneath them. Popping will open the skin and thereby becomes a good entry point for germs and bacteria. There are tools designed to pop them out. You can always buy them in your local grocery outlets. Try to expel all the remaining pus if present. If nothing comes out, it is already a good indication to stop.

Seeing a dermatologist is a good alternative than doing it by yourself. You will receive a prescribe treatment plan which helps lessen the outbreak and later scarring.

For severe acne problems, you might be asked to use an acne solution treatment with 25 percent benzoyl pero! xide. It can manage a mild and moderate outbreak and serves as! a skin cleansing solution as well.

For severe cases, antibiotics or Retin-A are usually added to control the occurrence. If you surf the net, there are lots of websites who give free information about acne treatment. Do not lose hope if you have an acne problem. With the right treatment, you can get rid of those annoying zits in no time.
